Hear the call of the wild among glassy lakes, leafy beech woods and oak pasture. Walk the famous Blekingeleden hiking trail where you find places to spend the night.
At Stensjö and Alljungen there are hiking trails, bathing and winter sports facilities. The Swedish Right of Public Access allows you to roam as you please, just enjoy the silence and birdsong – and try your luck at fishing. You may see elk, deer, foxes, badgers, wild boar, hares and pheasants.
Take a boat upstream to Nättraby with its medieval granite church. Visit Lyckeby and villages like Bröms, Flymen and Fur. One of Sweden's most beautifully located homestead museums lies on an island at Holmsjö.
On the boarder to Småland, in Båldön, you can discover the rebel Nils Dacke's caves, perfect hiding places for freedom fighters.
